Why Winter Is the Best Time to Live in the East Valley
When the rest of the country is pulling out the snow shovels, we're pulling out the hiking boots. November in the East Valley is one of my favorite times of year, and it's no wonder so many people start thinking about making a move.
I've lived and worked here for more than 30 years, and the season still gets me every time. Here's what makes winter here so special.
Hiking weather is perfect
Cooler mornings and mild afternoons make this the best time to be on a trail. From the Superstitions to the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, you can be on a trail minutes from home.
Art walks and Old Town evenings
Scottsdale ArtWalk runs every Thursday evening, with galleries open late for a stroll. Downtown Phoenix has its First Friday Art Walk, and events like Canal Convergence in Scottsdale light up the waterfront.
The holidays, Arizona style
The season kicks off with drive through light shows, ZooLights, the Tumbleweed Tree lighting in Chandler, and tree lightings across the Valley. Your holiday photos have a palm tree in them, and that's a pretty great thing.
Patio weather all season
Outdoor living isn't a seasonal luxury here. Morning coffee outside in January is just a normal day.
What this means if you're thinking of a move
Winter is a great time to see the East Valley at its best, whether you're relocating, buying new construction, or selling. When you can picture yourself living here in the nicest weather, you'll make a more confident decision. Just be sure to plan a visit in summer too, so you know the full picture.
If you're curious about an area, a community, or how a move would work, I'm happy to show you around.
